Building independent living skills for success with Trent Hill Center
Located in Hartsville, Trent Hill Center’s Independent Living Program provides safe housing, life skills, and a support system for homeless young adults and those aging out of foster care.
Through two grants totaling $138,000, Power:Ed has helped strengthen Trent Hill Center’s Independent Living Program, which provides safe housing, life skills, and a support system for homeless young adults and those aging out of foster care. Based in Hartsville, the program addresses the critical gap many young adults with lived experience face without stable housing or guidance to help them transition to independence. Through personalized case management and hands-on learning, participants build skills in budgeting, employment, education, and household management. As a result, participants are maintaining housing, securing jobs, continuing their education, and developing the independence needed for long-term stability and success.
